Pre-edit checklist
- Pick a track you can storyboard to.
- Mark beats (kicks / snares / vocal hits).
- Plan 3–5 hero moments + how you arrive at each.
- Transitions = camera/subject motion match first, effects second.
Export sanity
- Work in a master sequence, export mezzanine, then final deliver.
- Sharpen at the end (light CAS / high-pass).
- Banding check: add tiny grain/noise if needed.
keep render settings consistent.
Speed habits
- Template project + bins/folders.
- One control null per shot for shake / crop / lens.
- Precomp only when it protects you.
Metalheart color cheat
- Highlights cold (ice blue), shadows slightly violet.
- Push speculars with curves, not brutal exposure.
- Local tints near glows and UI.
